TPS was started in 2009 as a spin-out from Professor Martin Gundersen's pulsed power laboratory at the University of Southern California. The founders of TPS have produced more than thirty patents and three hundred and fifty publications. The team has been working together on this technology for almost 10 years, and was joined by experienced senior executives with automotive, aerospace, and financial backgrounds to begin ignition system product development in 2014.
